You can ALWAYS elect to have more or less sessions from what we recommend. These sessions spacing are based on what we’ve seen be most effective,
You DO NOT NEED to have internal sessions, but for many clients it’s more strongly recommend due to its incredible outcomes for creating space for baby for birth.
-

Our Midwife Bodyworker Gabrielle has learnt these life changing techniques from the one and only Fiona Hallinan from the Pelvic Space through the ‘Internal Pelvic Release Work Mentoring Program’ and is so excited to now offer this work as part of your birth preparation.
The internal work is very complimentary to our external work and so we recommend at least one external session first so you can build rapport together and address some tension points externally before delving into the incredible intravaginal work.
Session 1: External 32-34 weeks
Session 2: Internal 36 weeks
Session 3: Internal or blended 38-39 weeks
-
Scar work is an imperative part of giving your baby the best chance to navigate your pelvic space for birth.
So, we always dedicate one whole session to unraveling the story of your scar.
We also strongly recommend at least one internal (intravaginal) release session as working on the space baby is going to navigate can be a game changer to birthing outcomes.
Session 1: Scar work 30 weeks
Session 2: External 34 weeks
Session 3: Internal 36-37 weeks
Session 4: Internal/External or Blended 39 weeks
-
Whether your baby is breech, transverse or oblique, there's always so much we can do to investigate why they are choosing those positions and what they may need to help them choose head down instead.
The work also serves a very important part of improving the success rate of an ECV if that is something you plan on having.
Session 1: As soon as you find out (preference for 33 weeks minimum as most babies turn on their own prior to this)
Session 2: One week following
Session 3: To decide timing after session 2.
*We have found that the following mummas benefit from a first session at 28 week session as well to help baby chose head down early on:
septate uterus
bicornuate uterus or
previous breech baby
-
We recommend starting the work early to give Baby A the best chance of choosing head down before turning becomes much trickier and decreases your vaginal birth options.
Session 1: 28 weeks
Session 2: 32 weeks
Session 3: 36 weeks
Session 4: Timing to be decided following session 3.
-
Already know that an induction is the likely way of your labour starting? Then positional work prior becomes even more important.
The absence of early labour means your baby is missing out on some very important positional work, so we need to be more diligent with supporting their pre-labour position.
Session 1: External 34 weeks
Session 2: Internal or External 36 weeks
Session 3: External 38 weeks
